Primary schools in England will have lessons on spotting fake news and managing money.

The Department for Education (DofE) has announced that children will learn how to spot fake news, identify misinformation, and develop critical thinking skills.

The new lessons will also cover topics like how to save and budget money in maths classes, and understanding interest and mortgages.

These changes are part of the government's Plan For Change, with recommendations from Professor Becky Francis's Curriculum and Assessment Review.

Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson emphasized the importance of equipping young people with the skills to face modern challenges and opportunities.
