It was found by 76-year-old grandfather Ron Walters.

After six years of searching with his metal detector, he finally struck gold.
The coin was sold at auction for £4,700.

It is believed to be the first of its kind found in the UK.
The farmer who owns the land will receive half of the money from the sale.

The rest will go to Mr. Walters.
The coin dates back to AD69 and features the emperor Aulus Vitellius.

This is the first gold coin with Vitellius' face to be discovered in the British Isles.
The new owner, Mark Hannam, is a collector from Scotland.
He plans to use the coin as a piece of history in his collection.
Ron Walters intends to use the money for repairs and continue his metal-detecting hobby.
