Hello and welcome back to Kokomonster News. I'm Koko, bringing you cool news from all around our amazing world.

Powdr Corp. is selling Vermont's Killington Resort and Pico Mountain, the largest mountain resort in New England, to local passholders, the company announced Thursday.

The company also plans to list three other resorts for sale in the coming weeks: Eldora in Colorado, Mt. Bachelor in Oregon, and SilverStar in British Columbia.

Powdr, based in Salt Lake City, will keep Copper Mountain in Colorado and Snowbird in Utah.

The company spokesperson, Stacey Hutchinson, mentioned that they aim to balance ski business with concession contracts in National Parks and operations of Woodward camps and mountain centers.

Local investors acquiring Killington and Pico represents a commitment to maintaining the resorts under familiar ownership.

The new owners intend to focus on investing in the resorts, engaging with the community, and promoting sustainability.

Powdr purchased Killington in 2007 and it has been a stop on the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup tour for years.

The company will keep a minority ownership stake and a seat on the board of directors.

Hutchinson expressed gratitude for Powdr's stewardship over the years, including improvements in infrastructure and year-round growth.

Mike Solimano, Killington's president and general manager, mentioned that the resorts will remain on the popular Ikon ski pass with no changes to leadership or management.

Powdr previously owned several other ski resorts including Alpine Meadows in California, Lee Canyon in Las Vegas, and Park City Mountain in Utah.
