She could finally deliver the mail by barge again through the narrow waterways.
The Spreewald Forest delta is located southeast of Berlin.
On Wednesday, Bunar stood at the back of her boat.
She used one long oar to row, steer, and navigate her boat.

Bunar said, 'The start of the season is always special for me.'
She enjoys being in nature and back on the water.
For 14 years, Bunar has delivered mail and packages to villagers.
Lehde is about 100 kilometers southeast of Berlin.
In winter, she brings the mail by car.

The icy roads make it take longer than in summer.
From April to October, she is back on her nine-meter-long barge.
She drops off mail from Monday to Saturday in the mailboxes.
Residents have put the mailboxes right on the banks of the river.
Bunar also sells stamps to residents living along the route.

They can send their own mail with her.
The Spreewald has a network of 300 kilometers of waterways.
Many of them lead through lush forests and wetlands.
The Spree River runs through Berlin and branches into small canals.
