Goran Ericsson, a Professor in Wildlife Ecology, explained that about 95% of elk in northern Sweden migrate every year.
The migration involves the elk walking through woodlands and swimming across rivers back to summer pastures.
This year's migration started a week early due to warmer weather in April.
However, Ericsson mentioned that it falls within the normal range of variation.
