Holly the dog, a Labrador Retriever, officially retired as the Cuddle Manager at Alder Hey Children's Hospital in Liverpool this week.
Having visited the hospital as a therapy dog for eight years, Holly's job was to provide cuddles to many patients, families, and staff.

Her 500th trip to the hospital on April 15 marked a special milestone, leading the hospital staff to throw her a retirement party.
Holly and her owner Barry registered with the charity Pets as Therapy, recognizing her gentle demeanor as fitting for a therapy dog.

Barry mentioned that after 500 visits, Holly deserved a break to relax and enjoy some treats.
Nathan Askew, the Chief Nursing Officer at Alder Hey, praised Holly for the positive impact she had on the hospital community by providing comfort and normalcy through her visits.

In addition to winning awards, Holly was part of the volunteer team at the hospital that received the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service in 2022.
Notably, other therapy dogs like Bonnie the cocker spaniel also visit Alder Hey Children's Hospital to bring joy and comfort to those in need.
